Xyte Unveils Universal Device APIs to Simplify Integration and Empower Seamless Device Management

Mountain View, California – April 28, 2025  – Xyte, developer of the first all-in-one cloud platform for device manufacturers and system integrators, today announced the launch of its first set of Universal Device APIs, a transformative set of tools to streamline device integration. Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party technology vendors will be able to leverage the APIs to manage and interact with all Xyte-enabled devices in their platform of choice.

For years, the AV industry has faced the challenge of dealing with numerous proprietary systems and the complexity of vendors creating dozens – sometimes hundreds – of custom integrations, a process that is not scalable. Xyte’s new Universal Device APIs address this issue by allowing in-house AV/UC teams, MSPs, and third-party applications to integrate, monitor, and manage Xyte-connected devices through a single, secure API connection, ensuring a seamless user experience across platforms.

“The new Universal Device APIs help solve one of the industry's most painful issues of custom integration - creating a ‘spaghetti chaos’ of integrations between various platforms and devices. With the new APIs, third-party platforms and applications such as room booking systems and monitoring tools can use a single, robust API to connect thousands of  devices,” said Omer Brookstein, CEO and cofounder of Xyte. “This new approach drastically simplifies the development and maintenance for both sides.”

Devices can be accessed through native Xyte connections – as hundreds of device models from industry leaders like Planar, Legrand AV, Wyrestorm, Symetrix, and others already are – as well as via popular connectors like Zoom and Microsoft Teams Rooms, Biamp, Crestron, QSC devices, and more. By enabling integration with a wide array of devices and platforms, Xyte simplifies device management, making it easier for vendors to scale and expand their reach.

The Universal Device APIs align with Xyte’s mission and commitment to foster industry collaboration and provide solutions that help businesses streamline their operations, Brookstein added.

Key Benefits of Xyte’s Universal Device APIs

Wider Market Reach: Manufacturers can expand their customer base by enabling support for their devices on additional platforms, such as building management solutions, IT platforms, and others - increasing device accessibility across multiple ecosystems. As in-house AV teams move away from proprietary platforms, the new Universal Device APIs enable them to use Xyte as middleware, facilitating communication between their devices and existing ticketing or monitoring systems.

Reduced Integration Costs & Faster Time to Market: By standardizing integrations, Xyte’s Universal Device APIs eliminate the need for custom solutions, reducing costs and accelerating time to market.

Simplified Maintenance: Open APIs ensure uniform updates across platforms, reducing maintenance complexity, minimizing compatibility issues, and improving system reliability.

Improved Flexibility: In-house AV/UC teams have the freedom to choose the best solutions for their needs, without worrying about vendor lock-in or compatibility issues.

Future-Proofing & Competitive Advantage: As technologies evolve, open APIs like the Universal Device APIs provide businesses with long-term adaptability, enabling the quick integration of new devices and platforms, securing a competitive edge.

“As Xyte continues to expand support for new devices and models, as well as expand and grow our API endpoints, third-party platforms will automatically gain access to new devices, ensuring that businesses can scale and evolve without disruption,” Brookstein added.
