Xyte Releases Midyear AV Cloud Data Report Highlighting Industry Shift Toward Open, Cloud-First Solutions

Mountain View, California – July 16, 2025  – Xyte, developer of the first all-in-one cloud platform for in-house AV/IT teams, integrators, and device manufacturers, today announced the release of its midyear AV Cloud Data Report, offering exclusive insights into the technologies, trends, and priorities shaping the future of AV.

Drawing on aggregated and anonymized data from Xyte’s Connect+ platform, as well as hundreds of surveys and conversations with AV professionals at events like InfoComm 2025 and the spring AV Cloud Summit, where OpenAV Cloud was launched, the report reveals a clear industry shift toward open standards, cloud-native tools, and scalable service delivery.

The data highlights a growing demand for unified monitoring, reduction in incident noise, and the operational need for platforms that allow systems integrators and managed service providers (MSPs) to scale without increasing support workloads. Notably, Xyte platform data showed that even as device environments expanded significantly, the average incident burden per device decreased—demonstrating real-world progress toward scalable service models.

“As we come off the excitement of InfoComm 2025, it’s clear the AV industry is at a turning point,” said Omer Brookstein, Co-founder and CEO of Xyte. “The old model of siloed systems and reactive support no longer meets the needs of today’s connected environments. Through open APIs, smarter monitoring, and unified platforms, we’re helping AV stakeholders transform how they manage, support, and scale their systems—delivering measurable value to end-users.”

The report also reflects the strong industry momentum behind the OpenAV Cloud initiative—founded by Xyte alongside leaders like BrightSign, Shure, Legrand AV, Panasonic, and Sony Electronics—advocating for open and standardized cloud connectivity in AV.

Key findings include:

  • 86% of AV professionals see open APIs as critical or necessary.
  • 84% prefer open solutions over proprietary systems.
  • Cloud connectivity is increasingly influencing hardware procurement.
