Xyte Joins OpenAV Cloud to Lead the Shift Towards a More Open, Connected AV Future
Mountain View, California – May 22, 2025 – Xyte, developer of the first all-in-one cloud platform for device manufacturers and system integrators, today announced its participation as a founding member in OpenAV Cloud - a groundbreaking, industry-wide initiative designed to accelerate cloud adoption, foster interoperability, and champion an open AV ecosystem that delivers greater benefits across the entire value chain, from manufacturers to integrators to in-house teams.
OpenAV Cloud is an industry-driven initiative bringing together AV manufacturers and technology providers to build an open, secure, and customer-first framework for cloud-connected AV. By developing and promoting open APIs, secure data practices, and seamless cross-brand integration, OpenAV Cloud aims to remove barriers to innovation and give customers maximum flexibility in working across different brands and platforms.
“For nearly 30 years, I’ve seen how innovation has fueled the AV industry, but I’ve also seen how proprietary systems have slowed it down,” said Omer Brookstein, CEO and cofounder of Xyte. Brookstein has been instrumental in spearheading the OpenAV Cloud initiative. “Today’s customers demand openness, flexibility, and integration, meaning they are less willing to be locked into proprietary systems. They want platforms to work together, just like Slack integrates with Zoom or Salesforce talks to ServiceNow. That’s the direction we need to go—and OpenAV is the initiative to get us there.”
Xyte has long championed an open API approach, and Brookstein believes that true industry transformation will only come through cooperation across the ecosystem.
In addition to Xyte, other founding members of the OpenAV Cloud initiative include Sony Electronics, Panasonic, Legrand, Shure, Brightsign.
“We’re proud to stand alongside other industry leaders in building a future where devices and platforms connect effortlessly through the cloud,” Brookstein added. “This is about more than technology - it’s about creating a better experience for our customers and ensuring our industry continues to thrive in the cloud era.”
Members of OpenAV Cloud are working together to define best practices and contribute to open API development, while establishing a framework for secure data access and cross-platform compatibility.
